[370] Xlayer's Fake Noob Wall

    Xlayer's Fake Noob Wall (recommended)
    Enemies will look at it as a regular wall that can they can climb. But once they get to the top, Suprise! Instant death...

    Pros:
    • It's cheap and effective.
    • Quick to build.
    • Enemies will casually attempt to climb up the wall (and then die).
    • Anyone can fall for this trap.
    Cons:
    • The trap door at the top only works when your blocking someone to the left of you. If the spike is on the right, everyone (including your teammates) will die from it.
    • Can easily be deactivated by any decent builder.

    This one has the same deadly effect.

    Pros:
    • Teammates can climb the left and right side safely.
    • Defense on both sides.
    Cons:
    • Looking at this structure, enemies are more likely to hesitate to climb up the wall.
    • Right side is more likely to be destroyed by bombs, knights, gregs, etc.

    I just messed around with it a bit, it is still circumventable (at the last moment while your holding WD hold AW for a sec then switch back to WD). Still pretty hard to get past though without taking damage. I did it a few times but if you're just holding W and D you insta die.

    I think all traps (excluding pits) have a way to get past them....but most people don't think like that ;)

    Well I did a little bit more testing and here is what I found for:
    I found a right side variation:

    The doors are what deactivate the trap for your team, they stay closed for enemies so it creates the trap for the right side, it is still circumventable without any modifications from your design.

    So yeah, air, auto and corner spikes are so much fun to mess with! :D

    A lot of useful info on the subject of spikes can be found on these two threads: Auto-spikes & Air Spikes and Corner Spikes. Spike science is always fun, just be very careful and no one on your team will try to vote kick you. ;)

    That looks so good, can't wait to see even more variations of this in-game, and here, I will test this out later.
    Oh, I just saw something wrong with the building, it would be extremely easy to break that trap door, so one knights help up for another knight can break it. (Or just a builder sitting on the ground)
    So maybe have it lower by two, and one higher by one, with a team door, not directly below, but like this,

    In this example. it would be a lot harder to hit the trap door.

    Pretty sure any of these work with movement of keys and not actual movement so you can let go of forward to circumvent them, this is true of most spikes FYI.

    Other than that, looks good.

    I love things like this or traps with notches and side spikes, they look like they're easy to get by or get out of it...but when it comes down to it they fail miserably.

    Maybe put some a few spikes on the stone blocks at the top.
    That way it would encourage people to avoid those and directly get over it, where then your idea comes to work.
    It also wouldn't hurt your own teammates due to the team bridge which makes you avoid the spikes on the blocks.

    Actually, I'm trying to do as much damage with as little spikes as possible. Though, I understand what you're saying and I think it would be a pretty clever adaption.

    Love this structure, always use it. Always. Tend to build it in building time so use 2 layers of spikes(stops rogue bombs). Great work.

    Love this trap. I use it sometimes when it seems like the enemy is gonna get past our tower. And yes, it does look like a noob wall, so they're quick to try and get over. Nice job, Xlayer.
